Clevedon Care is a registered charity, run entirely by volunteers, who give up their time to help people in the BS21 postcode area access medical appointments within Clevedon and further afield.
We urgently require more volunteer drivers to meet the increasing demand for our service. Journeys can be during the week, weekends, or evenings and drivers can do those that suit their lifestyle, family & other commitments. Volunteers can choose to stay local or take on journeys further afield.
The service is friendly, affordable, reliable, and easy to access. Clients contact the office where a duty officer will take the client details and journey required and then match them to an available driver. The driver, using his or her own car, will pick them up from their home, take them to the appointment, be it a local GP surgery, or hospital appointment further afield, and then return them home when finished.
The service can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance of an appointment, but some may be booked at short notice due to hospital cancellations being offered. Donations to cover the cost of the journey are paid in cash to the driver at the time of the journey and the client will be advised of the amount when requesting the service.
To arrange transport, contact the office on 01275 343677, Mon – Fri, 9:30 – 12:30
