About our PPG

We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.  To help us with this, our Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of 20 volunteers who provide a route for patients to advise and inform the Practice on what matters to patients.

The PPG is consulted on key issues affecting the Practice. It meets on a regular basis (bi-monthly) to discuss the services on offer. They help give the practice, and its team, a patient perspective and they help identify solutions to problems so that improvements can be made for the benefit of all. They also support the practice in organising health promotion and self-care events.

If you have any non-medical point(s) to raise, please direct them to your local PPG member. Geoff Matthews is the Chair of the PPG.

Following the annual review of membership in December, two of the Sunnyside team have decided that it is time to stand down. We also have a vacancy at St Georges. We have given our sincere thanks to them for their support over the period since the wider PPG was formed several years ago.  Could any patients who use the Sunnyside or St Georges surgery get in touch if you would be interested in joining the PPG. Please express your interest through our practice email address – bnssg.mendipvale.scanners@nhs.net

There are five member positions for each main surgery, and the time commitment is normally limited to the meeting held every two months on a Wednesday afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.  It gives the opportunity to meet with the senior team at Mendip Vale, to exchange views on current issues and to contribute to any changes from a patient perspective.  We look forward to hearing from you.

The PPG is supported by the practice. If you wish to speak to a member of the PPG, please speak to a member of our staff.

Alternatively you could become a virtual member, and receive regular updates about what the group has been doing.   If you wish to be added to the distribution list, send an email to bnssg.mendipvale.scanners@nhs.net
