Our Patient Co-ordinators provide an important link for patients with the practice. They are your initial contact point for general enquiries.
They can provide general information on services and results, and can direct or signpost you to the right person depending on your health issue.
They are expertly trained in ensuring patients can access the right care, in the right place, at the right time. This enables us to treat more patients effectively. For example, when booking an appointment you will be asked if you would mind telling us briefly the problem. This will help the Patient Co-ordinator ensure:
- You are seen urgently if it is deemed necessary (e.g. if you have shortness of breath)
- You are seen by the correct team member if requesting another appointment (e.g. specific things such as coil fits are not performed by all members of the clinical team)
Please rest assured this is merely to ensure we provide you with the best possible appointment. All staff are governed by the same rules with respect to confidentiality.
Patient Co-ordinators also perform other important tasks. These include issuing repeat prescriptions, dealing with enquiries, and dealing with patient records. They are also best placed to signpost you to other members of the practice team.
Please do treat our Patient Co-ordinators with respect and courtesy – they are highly skilled members of the team, and will always try to help you get the care you need.
