COVID 19 PANDEMIC APPOINTMENT UPDATE:
(updated January 2021)
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic and guidance issued by NHS England and Public Health England, we are currently operating a phone first appointment model but are seeing patients face to face whenever needed.
We continue to offer telephone and video consultations with our doctors. These can be booked by phoning the practice. If your problem cannot be dealt with over the phone the doctor will arrange for a face to face appointment for you. You can also complete an ‘eConsult’ form via our website for any medical advice or if you have an administrative question. We will arrange for a call back from the doctor if this is needed.
You can make appointments for blood tests, smears, child immunisations etc by calling the practice. If you need an appointment for a diabetic, COPD, heart, or asthma review you may be asked to book a blood test first and then a telephone appointment for a review with the nurse.
We are now also offering online consultations using eConsult. Patients can submit symptoms, medication or administrative queries online via a form linked to our website. Patient co-ordinators at the surgery then allocate the query to the most appropriate pathway, in much the same way as if the patient had phoned the practice. This may mean a booked phone consultation with a GP, an appointment with a nurse or advice to consult a community pharmacist.

Online Appointment Booking
Pre-booked Saturday appointments
GP appointments are for ten minutes. The GP is generally only able to deal with one problem at a time, so please prioritise the problem causing you the most concern.
If you need a same day GP appointment, all urgent cases will be passed to the duty team for that day.
For routine problems or ongoing illnesses, please make a routine pre-bookable appointment. Pre-bookable appointments can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. Afternoon appointments are either pre-bookable or available to book on the day. We aim for you to be seen within 2 weeks for routine appointments, although this may not always be possible if you wish to see a particular GP.
Booking Your Appointment
When booking an appointment with the doctor or nurse, you will be asked if you would mind telling us briefly the problem. This will help the Patient Co-ordinator:
(a) ensure you are seen urgently if it is deemed necessary or,
(b) ensure you are seen by the correct team member (some procedures such as coil fits are not performed by all members of staff)
Please rest assured that all staff are governed by the same rules with respect to confidentiality, as are the clinicians – this is to ensure we provide you with the best possible and most appropriate service.
Please remember that some of our clinical team work part-time, so are not in the practice every day. When your chosen GP is unavailable, you will be offered an appointment with another GP. Some of our GP’s have other commitments and may not always be available, but we will always try to offer you an appointment with another clinician. When appropriate you may also be offered an appointment with one of our very experienced Advanced Practitioners or Community Paramedics.
