Willow Tree Surgery
Due to the ongoing clinical recruitment difficulties, we have made the very tough decision to limit services at Willow Tree Surgery.
Willow Tree is a much-loved surgery by its patients and the community, and it is a decision that has not been taken lightly. Unfortunately, it has become increasingly difficult to recruit new clinicians for Willow Tree due to the attraction of support networks at larger surgeries and ongoing clinical recruitment difficulties in the NHS. As such, the practice relies on locums to support the operations and care. This has changed the character of primary care for our patients, relying on circumstantial staffing as opposed to a stable permanent team. As such, we have found it significantly challenging to keep the surgery operational full-time, making recent changes to surgery opening hours.
Over the last few weeks, the management of Mendip Vale has been working to find a solution to continue to provide safe patient services at the practice. We are reviewing how best we can utilise the surgery space to keep the premises for patients and the community.

Our priority continues to be the safety of our patients and to ensure they continue to have good access to healthcare services at our other local surgery, Southmead, and Henbury Family Practice.
