National shortage of the Flu Vaccination for Children

Public Health England and NHS England have reported to us that there is a national shortage of the childhood nasal vaccine. As a result some school vaccination programmes have been put on hold.

We have been able to order a very small supply of vaccine and we will be allocating this to the children who are considered to be at highest risk. We are awaiting delivery of this supply – the date for this is yet to be confirmed by the supplier.

We intend to send a communication to families impacted by the shortage as soon as we have confirmation of this, and we will try to keep patients informed on progress, as soon as we are made aware of any updates by Public Health England.

Adult vaccinations are not impacted.
