FAQs

FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use any of the Mendip Vale Surgeries?

Yes - You are welcome to use any of our Surgeries. You may wish to be seen by a particular clinician at your regular Practice or go to any our Surgeries the choice is yours.

Can I be seen by the same clinician at my normal Surgery ?

Yes - You can specify which Surgery and which clinician you want to be seen by. Do remember that some clinicians may not work every day, and when they are on holiday you may have to wait longer.

Can I park at the Surgery?

There are large carparks at Langford and St Georges Surgeries. For Yatton and Congresbury Surgeries there are limited spaces, which during busy times may mean you can not park and will need to use on street parking. For Wrington Surgery there is no car park just on street parking.

Are there disabled parking bays at the Surgeries ?

All of our car parks have marked bays for Blue Badge holders. There are limited spaces in the small car parks at Yatton and Congresbury Surgeries. As Wrington Surgery does not have a car park there is just on street parking, which may mean you are not able to get close to the Surgery. Please let a member of the team know when you book your appointment about any help you made need.

How can I contact my Surgery ?

There is one number for all of the Surgeries -  01934 839820. We have two telephone hubs answering calls across the Surgeries, by working in larger teams we are more resilient to staffing issues such as sickness or annual leave so can answer your call quicker.

When are flu clinics being ran?

There are dedicated Flu Vaccination sessions on:

Saturday 16th September 08:30 - 12:00 at Pudding Pie Lane, St Georges and Yatton.

Saturday 30th September 08:30 - 12:00 at Pudding Pie Lane and St Georges

Saturday 7th October 08:30 - 12:00 at Yatton.

You do not need to make an appointment, eligible patients cab attend any of the sessions listed above.

Who is eligible for a free NHS flu jab?

The injected flu vaccine is offered free of charge on the NHS to people who are at risk. This is to ensure they are protected against catching flu and developing serious complications.

You are eligible to receive a free flu jab if you:

•are 65 years of age or over
•are pregnant
•have certain medical conditions
•are living in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility
•receive a carer's allowance, or you are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill

Front-line health and social care workers are also eligible to receive the flu vaccine.

Why is there not a drop in clinic at Congresbury or Wrington Surgeries ?

Having tried last year to provide a drop in session at Congresbury  we found that due to the space limitations it was difficult for both patients and staff to effectively provide a good service.  Patients at these sites can  book an appointment for their flu jab once the vaccines arrive, should they not wish to go to one of the Saturday clinics at the other sites.

What if I am eligible for a flu jab but housebound ?

We can come to you, call us to arrange a home visit - 01934 839820
